Privacy policy
We take the protection of your data seriously. No tracking, no eavesdropping, no data sales, no advertising cookies – that's our promise.
The following provides information pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) about how your personal data is processed when you visit this website.
§ 1 Controller
GemTec Games
Firat Aydogan (sole proprietor)
Frankfurter Str. 720-726
51145 Cologne
Germany
Email: [email protected]
§ 2 What this site is
This website (the "site") is a pure information and documentation page for the open-source project PDNS Manager (GitHub). You can neither register nor sign in here, there is no contact form and no comment section. We therefore process only the absolute minimum of data that is technically unavoidable when visiting a website.
§ 3 Server logs (hosting)
This site runs on shared hosting infrastructure (KeyHelp / Apache). The web server writes a log entry on every request. The following data is recorded:
- IP address of the requesting device
- Date and time of access
- Requested URL and HTTP status code
- Bytes transferred
- Referrer (the page you came from, if any)
- User agent (browser / OS identifier)
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). The processing serves the technical delivery, stability and security of the site as well as the defence against attacks.
Retention: The hoster keeps the logs only as long as necessary for the stated purposes (typically a few days to weeks) and then deletes or anonymises them automatically.
§ 4 Cookies
This site does not set any cookies. Neither first-party nor third-party.
We exclusively use the browser's local storage (localStorage) to remember two
purely technical settings:
- Light/dark mode (key
theme) - Language selection
These values never leave your browser and are never transmitted to a server. They are "strictly necessary to provide a telemedia service that the user has explicitly requested" (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG/TTDSG) and therefore require no consent. You can clear them at any time via your browser settings.
§ 5 No tracking, no analytics
We use no trackers, no Google Analytics, no Matomo, no Plausible, no Meta/X/TikTok pixels – nothing of the sort. There are no A/B tests, no user profiles and no re-targeting.
§ 6 External links
This site links in several places to github.com (repository, issues, releases). Once you follow such a link, you are on the website of the third-party provider GitHub Inc. / Microsoft Corp.; their privacy policy then applies.
We do not embed any third-party content (fonts, iframes, videos, tracking pixels) directly into the page. As long as you don't actively click an external link, no request is sent from your browser to a third party.
§ 7 SSL/TLS encryption
This site is delivered over HTTPS. Your requests are therefore transmitted in encrypted form.
§ 8 Your rights
You have the following rights at any time:
- Access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR).
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR).
- Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR).
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR).
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
- Objection to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR).
- Complaint to a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). For us, the competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
For all matters related to data protection, please contact us at [email protected].
§ 9 Changes to this privacy policy
Should technical conditions or legal requirements change, we reserve the right to amend this statement. The current version is always available at this URL.
